Daily Reading:
Proverbs 9-12
Key thoughts:
- 9:12 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
- 10:5 - He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.
- 10:9 - Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.
- 10:30 - The righteous will never be uprooted
- 11:3 - The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
10:3 jogged my mind a bit..."Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich". I feel like this could be taken in a spiritual sense as well. Being lazy in my time and relationship with God will lead to me being spiritually poor.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's an interesting thought and ties into what we read last week about Christ being the vine and as believers we need to be connected to that vine in order to live our lives in accordance with the will of God. It's been fun seeing how idea's and thoughts from previous readings really tie together. Spending time alone with God and honoring the Sabbath seems to be keys that keeps popping up haha
